A native of Galveston, Texas, Samuel built a distinguished legal career grounded in education, service, and a commitment to helping others.
He earned his BBA in Accounting from Lamar University in 1971 and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Houston Law Center in 1982.

His early career in energy production gave him experience in business, accounting and professional leadership.
After earning his Juris Doctorate in 1982, he founded The Childs Law Firm, P.C. in 1983.
His career expanded beyond private practice into education, mentorship, lectures and leadership within the Texas legal community.
